Built by a Turnpike Trust in the 19th century as a lodge cottage with a protruding front, it is currently a domestic property with only minor changes to the original tollhouse structure. It is single-storey on polygonal-bay front with two wings, with walls of render, roof of slate, square headed windows with modern glazing, a blocked front with a window replacing the doorway. It has distinctively overhanging eaves. The building is Listed Grade II. Bibliography:
